AU Information
AU Name: Yasuho Hirose
AU Age: 19
Physical Differences: Yasuho has very minimal differences between herself and her canon look, but the primary one is that she now has blonde hair- partly as a reference to her alternate palette. She also tends to keep most of her hair loose rather than in a series of braids- though she does keep two locks over the shoulders in braids.
AU History:
Born to a merchant couple in the Gold lands, Yasuho grew up well educated, albeit a little socially ostracized due to her interests in cartography and information networking more than dolls and ponies.
Despite the societal dip she and her mother would take after her father left them for unknown sorts, these interests would catch the eye of a local Gold vampire- possibly the same one going after the Higashikata's fruit orchards, oddly.
What with Yasuho's age, the vampire would simply keep an eye on her to see if she continued to live up to expectations. In the meantime she lived a quiet, if not slightly lonely life, feeling disconnected from friends and spending her time with her passions; maps, and mysteries- especially in the form of local secrets.
During this time she'd meet and grow close to one Josuke Higashikata. Awww.
Unfortunately- or fortunately- once she was properly an adult and it was determined that she was indeed living up to expectations, Yasuho was wisked away in the night to be brought to the castle. Despite things she would be able to send a letter to Josuke before arriving, using a pigeon- a bird she would be keeping a number of over her first season.
Yasuho didn't get a letter back however; the pigeon returned with it unopened, but clearly handled by him. 'Message' received, a broken hearted Yasuho would pour her focus into studies as a Novice, more or less tuning out anything but the absolutely necessary.
And then, you know, Josuke showed up with the latest season of novices. It's fine she's fine she's doing FANTASTIC.
AU Personality:
What with the setting of the world, Yasuho can best be seen as a blend of her post series and early series self; most notably, due to the necessities of holding composure in public, Yasuho has learned to steel herself somewhat better than she could in canon. Something of the 'straight man' in most situations, drawn naturally to the logical obvious of a situation's wrongs (ie; the room is on fire, this isn't the time to worry about the curtains), she's quicker to swallow back a panicked scream or bout of stress tears. In fact, she might even avoid the stress tears altogether.
Still a bit too kind and empathetic for her own good, she's managed to sharpen her gut instinct for most situations. While her heart can still supersede her judgement, she's generally good at gauging another's intent and character.
Her fierceness, as seen in end canon, is if anything now something with a harder edge. As far as she's aware, her heart's been quite firmly betrayed by someone she trusted, which means she just has to look after herself, and keep others a little more distant than her heart might want. She's more willing to pull the blackmail card on someone if it seems necessary though- not that she's especially free with that in the first place.
Lastly, thanks to her misunderstanding with Josuke in the AU, she's much more hesitant to get romantically involved with anyone- which might not be a difference, but she also apparently dated someone not long before the start of Part 8 so...Probably a difference?

Novice Information
Starting Season: Second Season
Maker: Foundling
Anticipated Court: Gold- partly because that was the court that scouted her to begin with, and also because ultimately Gold does the best to blend her interests and her attitudes. Even the perception of being the 'best' course of action for those around them, humans included, does a lot to bring this court to one's heart.
That said, I'm open to either NPC or PC taking the role of Maker here; there's probably plenty of reasons for the vampire to be different from the one who scouted her!
